Routine Dental Cleaning
This video demonstrates the procedure for a routine dental in most patients with no extractions. Routine full mouth radiographs are beneficial for early detection of disease below the surface and are done for an additional cost. If diseased teeth are evident and we need to decide if a tooth should be removed, then radiographs are performed in all cases.
The clinic is set up with advanced dental equipment for scaling, ploishing and extracting teeth. A pre-dental appointment is required for new patients or patients who haven’t been to the clinic in a while as some cases will require pre-op bloodwork and antibiotics. New in 2011 in Vermilion is a digital dental x-ray unit! This allows us to do a detailed examination of each tooth in question to see what is happening at the root and bone level. The pet must be heavily sedated or under general anesthesia for this.
