We offer hospital care for your animals after surgery and in the event of illness. Much like out-patient surgery at your hospital, our patients generally go home after
routine procedures such as spay, neuter, lump removals, dentistry, laceration repairs, porcupine quills etc.
If your pet requires hospitalization we work to ensure their comfort. As pet owners, we know you are all concerned about your pets comfort, safety and stress levels while at the hospital. Most animals are more comfortable than you may anticipate. We can use pain medication and or anti-anxiety medication if required for the safety or comfort of your pet.
Small things like a quiet enviroment, warm blankets, topical anesthesia for catheter placement or blood drawing can all make a big difference for the patient.
We don’t have a 24 hour facility with full staffing overnight, but if a case requires such intense care: either our doctors make arrangements or we refer you to Guardian Veterinary Hospital in Edmonton.
If your pet needs to stay overnight, we check on them as frequently as required by their individual requirements. Most pets on medications or intravenous fluids are comfortable and happy to sleep and receive the care they need.
